Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve final poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest players in the world. While participating in online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen generally buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has no reason to play at the table with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world might be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found wagering on online poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha hi-low and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
