Ah, the steam. If a poker player states at no time to have peered over the barrel of an upcoming steam – they’re either lying or they have not been gambling very long. You must be aware that you will not win each hand you are in, even if you are the strongest player. Hands which usually make players to go on tilt are hands you were the favorite or at least believed you were up until you were side swiped and you lost a big chunk of your stack. Bad beats are going to develop. Accept that reality right now, I’ll say it once more – if your brother enjoys cards, if your parents play cards, if your grandparents enjoy cards – We all have poor defeats at some point. It’s an inevitable outcome of playing Texas Hold’em, or for that matter any type of poker.
Since we are assumingly (most of us) in the game for a single purpose – to make money, it would make sense that we would play accordingly to maximize winnings. Now let’s say you are up $100 off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you suffer a huge blow in a No Limits game and your stack is at $120. You’ve lost eighty dollars in a round where you should have picked up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and enjoyed a 10 – 1 advantage. And that fish! He bled you dry on the river? – Well stop right here. This is a classic choice for a new bettor to begin tilting. They really just burned too much money on one round that they really should have won and they’re pissed
