Poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the croupier declares "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players are given 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s amount is on same level to your beginning wager, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantaneously to the casino. After the wager is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including a sum on par with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pony’s up chips equal to your initial bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
