Annie Duke mightn’t have came away with her 1st WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but Annie is still one of the most powerful poker competitors around the ring games at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.
While competitors from the "young crowd" of poker run amok after a huge win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mommy" to her 4 children. She was born in NH and was raised into a family of poker players. If you don’t believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action, Howard taught her how-to play poker.
However, Annie Duke is not a small fry kind of girl and has earned her share of hard games, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.
Winning well over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a advisor to both UltimateBet and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to develop his skills and become a power player at the poker table.
You might just notice Annie at the Bellagio, you will catch her on the television and you might just even play with her in a web poker match, but do not expect an easy win. Unless you are a up and coming master, you won’t defeat her. However, it would be cool to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
