Poker is a popular game that has a following of millions of active supporters around the globe. The game is composed of gamblers examining their personal hands before making a wild guess as to what cards the competing gamblers have. The various versions of poker games are Texas Holdem, Seven Card Stud, Omaha Poker, the Hi/Lo adaptation, Five Card Stud, and Five Card Draw. There are poker websites that distribute information about the different phrases deployed in the game. These terms are highly bewildering and usually require a while to master. However, knowing these terms is extremely important, as gamblers rely them time and time again while participating in a poker game, whether they are freshman or champions.

The phrase ‘aces up’ refers to a pair of aces and a further pair. ‘Active player’ often means a gambler who is still completely involved in a hand. ‘All blue and all Pink’ refers to a gambler has a set of 5 cards that are all spades, clubs, diamonds, or hearts. ‘Blank card’ refers to a card that has little or no value in the hand. The phrase, ‘deal’ references the action of assigning cards to players or keeping the cards on the boards. It pertains to the complete activity from breaking the deck to giving out the cards and until the money has been won, thereby drawing to a close that deal.

Other familiar terms used in the game of poker include but not limited to discard, drawing dead, flop, Fourth Street, kicker, lock up, loose game, and muck.
